Clinical Research: SpiroClinic Compact Receives Clinical Validation

SpiroClinic Compact, our portable ultrasonic clinical spirometer, was the subject of a clinical research. The purpose of the research was to examine the accuracy and repeatability of lung function measurements taken with SpiroClinic Compact. 

The study presents the benchtop validation of the SpiroClinic Compact according to ATS/ERS guidelines and the ISO 26782 standard waveforms. This validation was presented after a clinical study where the SpiroClinic Compact was used to perform pulmonary function tests on a volunteer group of 48 pediatric patients (6-18 years). The patients presented to the Hacettepe University Pediatric Allergy and Asthma outpatient clinic with asthma, allergic rhinitis, or other pulmonary conditions.

The study validates both the accuracy and repeatability of spirometric data such as FEV1, FVC, FEV6, FEF25-75, and PEF collected with the SpiroClinic Compact and its conformance to ATS/ERS and ISO 26782 performance requirements.
